TechFlow news: On March 20, according to South Korean media, the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office conducted a raid on Bithumb's headquarters in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul.
The investigation stems from allegations that Bithumb provided approximately 3 billion KRW in full lease deposits for an apartment in Seongdong District, Seoul, on behalf of its former representative director Kim Dae-jik (currently serving as advisor), with part of these funds allegedly used by Kim for personal apartment purchases.
It is reported that the Financial Supervisory Service of Korea has already launched an investigation into the related allegations and recently transferred the case to the prosecutors. Currently, the prosecution is conducting a forced investigation into Bithumb and collecting relevant evidence.
