TechFlow news, March 18 — According to CoinDesk, Europe's largest industrial technology company, Siemens, is partnering with Minima, a distributed ledger builder for the Internet of Things (IoT), to embed blockchain technology into Siemens' equipment used in automotive, robotics, and energy sectors.
As stated in a press release issued by both parties on Tuesday, Minima is collaborating with Siemens Cre8Ventures, a division under Siemens aimed at accelerating industrial transformation through partnerships with startups in fields such as artificial intelligence, digital twins, and cybersecurity. With computing power increasingly shifting toward the network edge, there is growing demand for embedding security and data integrity directly within these edge devices—precisely where IoT-grade blockchain technology comes into play.
Hugo Feiler, CEO of Minima, said in an interview: "As edge device computing capabilities improve, even large enterprise customers need to ensure system resilience. Therefore, the ability for these enterprises to operate decentralized systems becomes crucial. Decentralization is not just about removing intermediaries—it enables them to expand their service offerings more deeply."
