TechFlow News, March 18 — According to Cryptonews, the Spanish National Police have reported dismantling a Bitcoin-themed cryptocurrency investment scam that defrauded victims of approximately $32.6 million.
Police arrested eight suspects in Málaga, Madrid, and Murcia, including a "computer programmer" believed to be the ringleader of the network, along with several marketing and web design specialists.
Investigations revealed that the criminal organization developed a seemingly legitimate platform offering clients Bitcoin investment plans, promising 40% dividends after one month and returns as high as 300% after one year.
