TechFlow news, March 17 — According to CoinDesk, Sam Altman's blockchain project World Network is partnering with gaming hardware company Razer to launch a suite of features addressing bots in video games. The jointly developed "Razer ID verified by World ID" is a single sign-on mechanism designed to distinguish real players from bots. Built upon Razer’s existing login service, Razer ID, the system aims to ensure that "every Razer ID account has a real person behind it."
A study by Echelon Insights found that approximately 59% of gamers report frequently encountering unauthorized third-party bots in games. These bot accounts not only cause widespread frustration but often possess tactical advantages that undermine competitive multiplayer experiences. In a statement, World Network said: "Game developers now have a tool to build dynamic spaces dominated by real people rather than bots."
Razer Chief Corporate Officer Wei-Pin Choo said: "As artificial intelligence continues to reshape the gaming world, we want to equip gamers and developers with the tools they need to navigate this shift safely and confidently. By collaborating with World, we ensure real players remain at the heart of every experience, preserving fairness, immersion, and the human-first design of gaming."
