TechFlow news, on March 15, according to Cointelegraph, Argentina's National Securities Commission (CNV) has finalized regulatory rules for virtual asset service providers (VASPs).
The new regulations cover aspects including registration obligations, cybersecurity, asset custody, anti-money laundering, and risk disclosure. They mandate the mandatory separation of company and client funds, annual audits, and submission of monthly reports to the CNV. Starting in 2024, VASPs operating in Argentina must register with the Virtual Asset Service Provider Registry (PSAV), and non-compliant entities may face deregistration.
Roberto E. Silva, chairman of the CNV, stated that institutions failing to comply with the regulations will be unable to operate in Argentina.
