TechFlow news, March 10 — According to Jinshi News, in a recent interview with the "Sunday Morning Futures" program, U.S. President Trump declined to rule out the possibility of the American economy entering a recession this year, describing the current period as a "transition phase." Trump stated that his sweeping tariff policies might bring "short-term" pain to Americans, but these measures would ultimately drive future economic prosperity.
U.S. stock markets have performed weakly lately, dropping over 6% since their peak on February 19, with all three major indices closing below the levels they stood at when Trump took office on January 20. U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent acknowledged that difficult periods may be experienced during the economic transition, referring to it as "a period of withdrawal." Meanwhile, Commerce Secretary Lutnick said on NBC News: "The U.S. economy will not fall into a recession."
