TechFlow reports that on March 6, according to New York State legislative documents, Assemblymember Vanel introduced Bill A06515, aiming to criminalize fraudulent activities involving virtual tokens, illegal "pump-and-dump" schemes, private key fraud, and failure to disclose interests in virtual tokens.
If passed, the bill would clearly define various forms of fraud in the cryptocurrency space, providing a legal basis for combating illicit activities in the blockchain industry. Currently, there is no similar legislation, and the bill remains under review.
