TechFlow News — On March 4, according to IBTimes, Ilman Shazhaev, founder of game studio Dizzaract, said in an interview that DeepSeek's low-cost AI development approach is "encouraging" and could become a significant catalyst for blockchain advancement. He stated, "If high-performance AI models can be accessed at low cost, more decentralized systems will be able to leverage them across various levels."
Shazhaev believes DeepSeek's open-weights design and two-stage reinforcement learning training method mark a genuine shift in AI development philosophy. He predicts this model will have a major impact on blockchain gaming, particularly in advancing smarter in-game economies.
Although OpenAI CEO Sam Altman previously accused DeepSeek of secretly using data from U.S. AI giants to train its AI assistant, Shazhaev believes a shift is emerging among developers, especially in the cryptocurrency and AI convergence space. He noted that budget constraints have long been a barrier in blockchain development, making models like the DeepSeek chatbot an attractive option.
DeepSeek's AI model, launched in January this year, sent shockwaves through the tech industry, causing declines in related tech stocks and AI tokens. Subsequently, former U.S. President Donald Trump issued a statement urging American tech companies to "wake up and learn" from this AI technology that doesn't require billions of dollars in development costs.
