TechFlow reported on March 3 that SlowMist's Yu Xian posted on X, highlighting a critical risk: antivirus software false positives may cause damage to cryptocurrency wallet browser extensions. When antivirus software mistakenly flags a wallet extension’s JS file and quarantines it, the extension can become unusable.
Yu Xian advised users, upon encountering such issues, to restore the file from quarantine rather than deleting it outright. Even if the file has already been deleted, users should refrain from uninstalling the wallet extension, as there remains a chance to recover locally stored encrypted private key files.
