TechFlow reports, on February 28, Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin posted on social media to remind: "Many people have lost significant amounts of cryptocurrency due to loss rather than theft. Software bugs, forgotten passwords, lost devices, paper wallets burned in the Los Angeles fires, failing to back up data when upgrading devices... There are so many ways these things can happen.
Because there's no attacker to blame, victims don't have a strong incentive to talk about it. And usually, since they feel they only have themselves to blame, victims remain silent out of shame. But this kind of situation does happen—and frequently. Our ecosystem needs to build truly robust wallet security solutions that also account for loss. This is why I talk about social recovery so often!"
