TechFlow news, February 22 — According to Jinshi News, several key Federal Reserve officials will speak intensively next week, including Logan, a 2026 FOMC voter; Federal Reserve Governor Barr; and Balakrishnan and Bostic, both 2027 FOMC voters.
Earlier minutes from the Fed's January meeting indicated that policymakers want to see further declines in inflation before cutting interest rates, and expressed concerns about potential inflationary impacts from new tariff policies proposed by the Trump administration. Following the release of strong CPI data, the upcoming U.S. core PCE price index will become the market’s focal point next week.
According to a foreign media survey, economists broadly expect the Fed’s first rate cut could be delayed until July. Economists from Comerica Bank said that due to tariffs, a strengthening labor market, and congressional extensions of tax cuts, long-term interest rates in 2025 may remain at current levels.
