TechFlow news — On February 21, according to Bloomberg, Apple has removed its Advanced Data Protection (ADP) cloud encryption feature for users in the UK. The move responds to regulatory demands in the country, but Apple has clearly stated it will “never” create backdoors into user data.
Earlier reports, citing The Washington Post, indicated that the UK's Home Office issued a "technical capability notice" to Apple, demanding access to users' encrypted data. Sources revealed that the British government requested Apple to establish a "backdoor" to gain access to all content users store in the cloud.
