TechFlow reports on February 19 that, according to CoinDesk, Swedish blockchain aviation data network company Wingbits will launch a satellite at the end of February via SpaceX's Transporter-13 mission to enhance data validation capabilities for its decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN). At the Consensus conference in Hong Kong, CEO Robin Wingardh said the company has already deployed over 2,200 ground nodes across more than 90 countries and tracks approximately 120,000 unique flights daily.
Wingbits differentiates itself from traditional aviation data providers like FlightAware and Flightradar24 by using Solana testnet tokens to incentivize data contributors. The company recently completed a $5.6 million second seed funding round led by investors including Borderless Capital and Bullish Capital.
