TechFlow reports that on February 18, according to Cointelegraph, NFT marketplace OpenSea announced it is pausing its newly launched listing and bidding points reward program. Previously, the platform introduced an experience points (XP) system in the OS2 beta version released on January 28, intended for eligibility determination of future platform token SEA airdrops.
Due to criticism that the mechanism encouraged wash trading and overlooked contributions from builders, OpenSea CEO Devin Finzer stated the company will adjust its strategy, focusing instead on the XP shipments mechanism launched on February 14, while increasing rewards for NFT purchasing and holding activities.
