TechFlow news, on February 15, according to Cointelegraph, the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) submitted an application to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) on February 14 to introduce staking functionality for Grayscale's spot Ethereum ETF. The proposal involves two funds: the Grayscale Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHE) and the Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust ETF (ETH).
According to the filing, Grayscale emphasized that the staking activities do not constitute "delegated staking" or "staking-as-a-service," and will not guarantee specific returns. The current estimated staking yield for Ethereum on Coinbase stands at 2.06%. 21Shares recently became the first to file a similar application.
Market analysts suggest that under the Trump administration, the SEC may adopt a more crypto-friendly policy stance. As revealed by Jito and Multicoin Capital, SEC staff may currently be inclined to reconsider allowing staking features in ETH and other crypto asset ETPs.
