TechFlow reports that on February 13, Simon Gerovich, CEO of Japanese publicly listed company Metaplanet, disclosed that the company will officially be included in the MSCI Japan Index after market close on February 28, 2025. As a well-known Bitcoin-focused financial firm in Asia, Metaplanet's inclusion marks mainstream market recognition of its Bitcoin strategy.
Simon stated that this inclusion will bring three major benefits: first, it will significantly enhance the company's visibility among global investors; second, passive funds and ETFs tracking the MSCI Index will automatically allocate to the stock, driving new capital inflows; third, the inclusion validates recognition of the company's market position and strategic direction.
The MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International) Index is a key investment benchmark for global institutional investors, with the MSCI Japan Index primarily tracking large- and mid-cap Japanese listed companies.
