TechFlow news — On February 8, according to Unusualwhales, a source present at a closed-door meeting during the Toronto Summit revealed that Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau stated behind closed doors that U.S. President Trump's proposal suggesting Canada become the 51st state of the United States is "a real possibility," partly aimed at gaining access to Canada’s critical mineral resources.
In recent months, Trump has repeatedly hinted that Canada could avoid tariffs if it agrees to become the 51st state of the U.S., even referring to Trudeau as "Governor Trudeau" on social media.
