TechFlow news, on February 8, according to Jinshi News, an internal memo reveals that Meta (formerly Facebook) plans to carry out anticipated layoffs across the company next week, while accelerating the hiring of machine learning engineers.
The memo indicates that layoff notifications in most countries, including the United States, will begin to be issued starting at 5 a.m. local time on Monday.
Employees in Germany, France, Italy, and the Netherlands are unaffected by the layoffs "due to local regulations," while staff in over a dozen other countries across Europe, Asia, and Africa will receive notifications between February 11 and February 18.
