TechFlow news, on February 8, according to Caixin, Hao Gang, former deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Financial Supervision Administration, was sentenced to 11 years in the first instance.
It is reported that Hao Gang was involved in Bitcoin money laundering and once assisted a senior executive of a leading Bitcoin mining company in lifting exit controls, with alleged bribery amounting to tens of millions of yuan. Hao previously served as head of the Financial Risk Management Division at the Beijing Financial Bureau and became a member of its Party leadership and deputy director in August 2019, overseeing risk-related affairs, until he was investigated in April 2023 for suspected serious disciplinary violations and illegal activities.
