TechFlow reported on February 5 that Scam Sniffer data showed cryptocurrency phishing scams in January 2025 resulted in 9,220 victims losing $10.25 million, a 56% decrease compared to $23.58 million lost in December.
Ethereum users suffered the largest losses, exceeding $8 million, accounting for over 80% of total losses. Users on BNB Chain and Arbitrum lost $710,000 and $572,000 respectively, while Polygon and Optimism users lost approximately $191,000 and $82,000 respectively.
