TechFlow news, on February 2, CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju stated on X that although he is not a fan of meme coins, he believes they possess potential value. He compared cryptocurrency exchanges to channels through which internet capital flows into societal spiritual energy. However, currently, meme coins are primarily generating negative impacts and causing industry leaders in crypto exchanges to be criticized.
He also pointed out that the current phenomenon of meme coins resembles a primitive collective consciousness, with these communities functioning similarly to shared belief systems, potentially evolving from "shamanistic movements" into more structured belief systems.
Ki Young Ju believes harmful meme communities should be rejected, while meme cultures that promote positive spiritual energy deserve support. While meme coins may have limited value at present, in the long term, meme coins with practical utility and mature frameworks could emerge. He envisions that in the future, religious organizations, charities, and NGOs might issue meme coins with social value, providing internet communities with new social and economic models.
