TechFlow reported on January 26, according to DL News, that Dean Norris, an actor from "Breaking Bad," has had his Twitter account hacked for the second time in six months. Hackers issued a token named $Dean in his name and promoted it using forged photos showing him holding a note endorsing the token. The token's market cap briefly surged to $7 million before crashing 90% after Norris released a video clarifying that his account had been compromised.
Norris said he rarely uses Twitter and only learned about the hack after receiving text messages from friends. Last September, his account was similarly exploited to promote the $SHRADER token on the TRON blockchain. With events such as Trump launching the $TRUMP token, users are increasingly unable to distinguish between genuine celebrity-endorsed tokens and scams.
