TechFlow reports that on January 23, Curve founder Michael Egorov shared his views on the recent Ethereum Foundation controversy. He stated that the Ethereum Foundation should take the following concrete measures: focus on a roadmap for L1 scalability; acknowledge that L2s are already decentralizing the ecosystem; fund important non-profit infrastructure projects; maintain engagement with the DeFi industry; and communicate with traditional finance and policymakers.
He pointed out that data shows L2s handle approximately 19.7 million daily operations, compared to only 1.22 million on the Ethereum mainnet—a 16.7-fold difference. If the Ethereum Foundation wants L1 to be more than just a security layer, it needs to achieve real scalability.
