TechFlow news: On January 22, South Korean cryptocurrency exchange Upbit issued an announcement warning about multiple recent fraud cases involving impersonation of former and current Upbit employees. Scammers are using social media to display forged employee ID cards, falsely claiming to be "former Upbit employees from three years ago," and approaching victims under the pretext of "providing business model consulting." Additionally, other scammers are impersonating current employees and spreading false information about token listings.
A representative from Upbit stated, "Employee ID photos have never been made public; all circulated employee IDs are counterfeit," and emphasized that all transaction-related support information is released exclusively through official announcements. The exchange urges users to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities through official channels.
