TechFlow news: Monad has launched its first hackathon, evm/accathon, aimed at helping rising EVM developers build the next breakthrough crypto applications without limitations on scalability or throughput. Supporters of the event include Phantom, Curvance, Wormhole, Switchboard, Axelar Network, Euler Labs, and Allora.
The event will kick off on February 24–25, 2025, at ETHDenver's IRL Hacker House, where participants will meet in person and receive guidance and support from the Monad team and leading builders across the crypto industry. Subsequent judging rounds will be conducted online.
The hackathon focuses on key areas including AI, DeFi, NFTs and gaming, developer tools, and consumer and social applications. Developers will build projects around these themes for a chance to win over $100,000 in prizes, with potential follow-on funding of up to $30,000 awarded in milestone-based installments.
Applications are now open and will close on February 11, 2025.
Monad aims to build a high-performance Layer 1 blockchain for the next generation of decentralized applications. In April 2024, Monad Labs raised $225 million in a funding round led by Paradigm, with participation from Coinbase Ventures, Electric Capital, and others.
