TechFlow reports on January 17 that, according to TheBlock, Ethereum developers plan to launch the network's Pectra upgrade in March 2025. Prior to this, Ethereum testnets Sepolia and Holesky will undergo hard fork upgrades in February. If these testnet forks proceed smoothly, the mainnet upgrade will follow the next month.
The Pectra upgrade will incorporate multiple Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs), primarily focusing on enhancing user experience and network efficiency. Key features include improved user experience for crypto wallets and account abstraction, increasing the maximum validator staking limit from 32 ETH to 2,048 ETH, and updating deposit and withdrawal mechanisms.
