TechFlow news, January 17 — According to Cointelegraph, Zach Pandl, Managing Director of Research at Grayscale, said that after two major victories in 2024—the approval of spot ETFs and Trump's election victory—the crypto industry will see more incremental breakthroughs in 2025. These include increased institutional adoption, Congress enacting a more comprehensive legislative framework, and the potential for Bitcoin to become part of U.S. reserve assets.
In a conversation with Ric Edelman, founder of the Digital Assets Council of Financial Professionals (DACFP), Pandl stated that Bitcoin reaching $500,000 by 2030 is not "entirely impossible." He noted that pension funds and endowments that have been观望 crypto over the past decade are now actively engaging with the space, with some portfolio managers already allocating up to 5% of their portfolios to digital assets. Approval processes at additional institutions are expected to be completed within 6–12 months.
Furthermore, Pandl expects sovereign wealth funds outside the United States to increase their exposure to crypto assets in the coming months. He expressed particular optimism about Ethereum’s prospects for institutional adoption, calling it "one of the most important open-source software projects." In private markets, decentralized finance (DeFi), tokenization of physical assets, and AI-related tokens may attract institutional interest.
