TechFlow news, January 17 — According to an official announcement, MakersPlace, a digital art platform that has operated for six years, declared it will cease operations due to market challenges and difficulties in securing funding. As of today, the platform has suspended functions including minting, token imports, and new account creation, while preserving artwork trading capabilities. Users must transfer their works to personal wallets by June 2025; migration tools will be released in February.
The platform pledged to refund unused funds to investors and provide severance packages for employees. Ethereum-based NFTs already minted can continue to be traded on secondary markets. Prominent digital artist Beeple expressed regret over the closure, thanking MakersPlace for its significant impact on his career and for advancing the field of digital art.
