TechFlow reports that on January 16, restaking protocol Puffer Finance released its Season 2 update plan, introducing a community-driven rewards system. The new system will replace the previous off-chain points mechanism with an ERC-20 token called CARROT, which has a maximum total supply of 100 million tokens and will be used to reward activities such as staking, voting, and providing liquidity.
According to the announcement, CARROT tokens will be distributed dynamically every two weeks based on governance metrics determined by community voting. Users can claim their rewards at any time during the reward period or within one year after the end of Season 2. Claimed tokens will be subject to a 30-day lock-up period before withdrawal, with each new claim resetting the lock-up timer. After the conclusion of Season 2, CARROT tokens will be convertible into PUFFER tokens at a fixed exchange rate.
