TechFlow news — On January 16, according to The Washington Post, two sources familiar with the matter revealed that Donald Trump is considering issuing an executive order after taking office to suspend for 60 to 90 days the implementation of the TikTok "sell-or-ban" law. Trump, who has over 14 million followers on TikTok, has consistently sought to fulfill his campaign promise to "save TikTok." However, Alan Rosenstein, former National Security Advisor at the U.S. Department of Justice, stated that an executive order cannot fully override a congressional bill that enjoys bipartisan support, meaning TikTok would still face the risk of being banned.
