TechFlow reported on January 15 that, according to the latest court documents, a U.S. court has ruled the 120,000 bitcoins seized in connection with the 2016 Bitfinex hack should be returned to Bitfinex "in-kind."
The document stated that although there is no specific "victim" identified in this case, the court has the authority under the defendant's plea agreement to order voluntary restitution, which includes returning all assets seized from the hacker's wallet linked to the Bitfinex breach.
