TechFlow news — On January 14, according to official announcements, Adrienne Harris, Superintendent of the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS), unveiled an exchange program that will enable NYDFS to rotate senior staff experienced in digital assets with senior personnel from the Bank of England. The initiative aims to help regulators gain deeper insights into how foreign institutions address emerging payments and digital asset issues. The NYDFS head described the program as "critical to regulatory coordination."
NYDFS is responsible for overseeing cryptocurrency regulation in New York State, home to numerous companies leveraging the region's business and regulatory environment. The financial regulator implemented the BitLicense program in 2015 and recently approved projects such as Ripple Labs' RLUSD stablecoin in December.
