TechFlow news, January 13 — According to CoinEdition, U.S. Senior District Judge Phyllis J. Hamilton has approved Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse's and the SEC's request to seal specific court documents. As the case progresses, both parties can now keep sensitive information confidential.
The sealed documents include key exhibits related to summary judgment and expert testimony, which are critical to the case. The court's decision was made under the Ninth Circuit's "compelling reason" rule.
Ripple sought to seal eight exhibits related to summary judgment and 56 exhibits opposing the SEC's motion. Meanwhile, the SEC requested to seal portions of its own exhibits, including expert testimony.
