TechFlow news, January 10 — According to CryptoBriefing, Phantom, a multi-chain crypto wallet provider, has become embroiled in controversy due to its interaction with AceofAI. On January 9, AceofAI announced a "partnership" with Phantom and claimed to have joined Phantom's early access program for its embedded wallet. Phantom responded to the tweet using emoji reactions, which the market interpreted as confirmation of the partnership, causing the ACE token price to surge temporarily to $0.017.
However, Phantom later deleted its reaction and clarified that AceofAI is merely a user of its embedded wallet product, and there is no formal partnership or endorsement between the two parties. Phantom stated it was unaware its service would be used for token promotion. Following this clarification, the ACE token price plummeted to $0.0005, a drop of over 90%. Many investors reported losses due to the misunderstanding and criticized Phantom's communication approach.
