TechFlow news, on January 9, according to CNBC, Karan Bhatia, Google's global head of government affairs and public policy, announced a $1 million donation to Donald Trump's 2025 inauguration fund and confirmed that YouTube will provide live streaming services and direct homepage links for the event. Previously, tech giants including OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Meta had also announced identical donations.
Notably, Trump had earlier criticized big tech companies' monopolistic practices on Truth Social, while Google is currently facing antitrust investigations into its search and advertising businesses. Google CEO Sundar Pichai has met with Trump and publicly congratulated him on his "decisive victory" via the X platform.
