TechFlow news, January 8 — According to the Shanghai Securities News, Hu润 Research Institute released the "2024 Hurun Global Gazelle Index," showing that the number of global gazelle companies increased by 17% year-on-year to 803, spread across 38 countries. Among them, Chinese companies have grown from 70 in 2019 to 258. Of the 302 newly added companies, 77 are in biotechnology and 29 in AI.
Data shows that over 25% of gazelle companies have already applied AI technology in fields such as fintech, blockchain, and SaaS, with an average valuation of USD 700 million. Hurun stated that the convergence of generative AI, machine learning, AR/VR, cloud computing, and other technologies is creating unprecedented development opportunities for innovative enterprises.
Note: Gazelle companies refer to young, fast-growing companies similar to African gazelles—typically founded after 2000, expected to reach a valuation of USD 1 billion within three years, and possessing continuous innovation capability and high growth potential as private companies.
