TechFlow reported on January 8, citing finomy, that 27 current and former employees from gaming giant WeMade's blockchain division have filed a lawsuit against the company over "unpaid" cryptocurrency bonuses, seeking approximately $11 million in compensation. The group claims the company had promised them crypto-based performance bonuses for work related to the WEMIX token. Among these employees are individuals still working at WeMade, as well as members from subsidiary Wemade Tree, formerly WeMade’s blockchain division.
The company developed WEMIX, which first listed on cryptocurrency exchanges in 2020. WeMade later merged with WeMade Tree in February 2022.
