TechFlow news, January 7 — According to an official announcement, Babylon will launch its second-phase testnet (bbn-test-5) on January 8 at 09:00 UTC. The updated staking application will go live at 10:00 UTC.
This phase will focus on testing the migration registration of Signet Bitcoin staking from the first phase, as well as interactions with various protocol participants, including Bitcoin stakers, finality providers, validators, and liquid staking protocols.
The testnet supports permissionless smart contract deployment. The staking limit per transaction ranges from 0.0005 to 350 Signet BTC, with an unbonding period of approximately 16–17 hours (100 Bitcoin blocks). The test is open globally, but users from the United States, Canada, Australia, and mainland China are restricted from participation.
