TechFlow news, December 26 — According to The Block, Teresa Goody Guillén, former litigation advisor to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and partner at BakerHostetler, said she expects the SEC to file fewer cases against cryptocurrency companies in the new year. The SEC can only bring lawsuits in cases involving securities; therefore, if misconduct does not involve securities, the agency will refer such bad actors to the Department of Justice and other regulators, such as the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
