TechFlow reported on December 25 that, according to Crowdfundinsider, crypto payment platform MoonPay announced it has received a Money Transmitter License from the Texas Department of Banking. Starting immediately, users in Texas can purchase 64 cryptocurrencies via Venmo and PayPal. Statistics show that over one-fifth of Texas' voting-age population holds cryptocurrency.
MoonPay plans to expand its services in 2025 to allow Texas residents to sell cryptocurrencies including BTC, ETH, and SOL. Currently, MoonPay has obtained money transmitter licenses in 45 U.S. states.
