TechFlow news — On December 23, bitcoin mining company Compass Mining announced a new 25-megawatt bitcoin mining facility in Texas. The facility has been fully constructed and will begin operations by the end of the year, initially operating at 5 megawatts and scaling up to 25 megawatts by early January 2025.
Compass also plans to expand the facility’s capacity to 60 megawatts by the third quarter of 2025. The new site will house both miners relocated from Compass’s existing locations and newly deployed equipment. Starting January 2025, new customers purchasing miners through the Compass platform will have the option to deploy at the "Texas 6" site.
