TechFlow reported on December 20 that, according to ledgerinsights, German fintech firm Cashlink Technologies has obtained a crypto custody license from the German Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). As the first startup to receive full registration as a cryptographic securities registrar, Cashlink can now provide private key custody services for tokenized securities it participates in issuing and registering.
This year, the company has assisted KfW Bankengruppe (KfW) in issuing two digital bonds totaling €150 million, one of which participated in the European Central Bank's wholesale DLT settlement pilot. Under the EU's MiCA regulations, this custody license will also allow Cashlink to offer cryptocurrency and stablecoin custody services in the future.
