TechFlow news — On December 4, according to CoinDesk, a person familiar with Atkins' thinking said that former SEC commissioner Atkins is cautious about leaving his global consulting firm to take charge of what he sees as an bloated agency mismanaged by outgoing SEC Chair Gary Gensler. The role holds little appeal for him due to the significant effort required to reform the institution, in his view.
Notably, former CFTC chairman Chris Giancarlo agrees that overhauling the current state of the SEC would be a heavy task, yet he supports Atkins taking on the role. Sources indicated that Atkins has already been interviewed at Mar-a-Lago this week.
