TechFlow News, on December 2, according to Caixin, recent information about BRICS countries jointly launching a decentralized multilateral cross-border payment system—BRICS Pay—has spread online, claiming pilot programs have started in China. Searching for key details even reveals seemingly legitimate "official websites," available in both English and Chinese versions. However, Caixin's investigation found that the so-called authoritative media reports cited by these "websites" actually only appear in self-media articles with unclear origins. Overseas news regarding BRICS Pay similarly appears on cryptocurrency news sites such as Bitcoin.com.news and Cointelegraph, rather than official media outlets.
Relevant authorities disclosed that China's monetary authority is unaware of the alleged "BRICS Pay," has not participated in any related initiatives, and there is absolutely no truth to claims of pilot programs being launched in China. The so-called "official website" is merely an unauthorized "rogue site" attempting to piggyback on the BRICS name.
