TechFlow news, on December 1, CFTC Chairman Chris Giancarlo discussed in an interview this week the SEC's lawsuit against Ripple regarding XRP. The SEC accused Ripple of violating securities laws by issuing XRP, and a federal court ruled that some distributions qualified as securities while others did not.
Giancarlo believes the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission should reconsider its approach, especially in light of recent legal outcomes and a potentially shifting regulatory environment. When asked whether the SEC would drop its case against Ripple, Giancarlo said: "I think they should... I bet they will."
