TechFlow reports that on November 21, blockchain analyst ZachXBT disclosed suspect Ronald Spektor (online alias Ronaldd) allegedly impersonated a Coinbase customer support representative and stole $6.5 million in crypto assets from a U.S. user on October 7, 2024, via a phishing website.
On-chain analysis shows the stolen funds were converted into Litecoin through the eXch platform and then dispersed across multiple service platforms. A few days after the attack, the suspect bragged on Discord about receiving $3.1 million in his Ledger Live account on October 8. ZachXBT traced the suspect's Telegram-linked TON address, finding connections to multiple exchanges and other Coinbase withdrawal records, suggesting potentially more victims.
