TechFlow news — On November 21, according to Bitcoin.com News, a judge at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York approved Celsius’ innovative proposal to serve legal documents on anonymous defendants via NFT airdrops. Designed by Celsius’ claims administrator, the plan involves delivering legal notices by airdropping NFTs containing links to the documents directly to relevant wallets. FTI Consulting will verify on-chain delivery, record the time when the NFT is opened, and monitor website traffic to ensure genuine access. Judge Glenn described the method as the "best available approach," setting a precedent for blockchain technology’s application in the judicial field.
Previously, during its bankruptcy liquidation process, Celsius faced challenges identifying the actual owners of certain transaction wallets due to blockchain anonymity, making traditional service methods unfeasible—prompting this innovative solution.
