TechFlow news — On November 19, according to The Wall Street Journal, Trump is set to hold a private meeting with Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase (COIN.O). Sources indicated that the two are expected to discuss personnel appointments for Trump's upcoming administration.
This meeting marks the first time Trump has met with Brian Armstrong since his election victory. While Trump previously expressed skepticism toward cryptocurrency, he has shifted in recent years to become a vocal supporter of the industry. Earlier this year, at a Bitcoin conference, he pledged that if elected, he would establish a presidential advisory committee on Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies to develop clear regulatory guidelines. Armstrong has previously publicly suggested that Trump appoint Hester Peirce, a current SEC commissioner nominated by Trump, as the next SEC chair.
In addition, prior to the election, Coinbase contributed over $100 million to various political action committees, including $40 million aimed at supporting pro-crypto candidates.
