TechFlow news, on November 11, according to the Bangkok Post, a Ukrainian man told police that he was forced to transfer over 8 million Thai baht worth of cryptocurrency to a group of armed men after visiting his friend's room. 23-year-old Viacheslav Leibov said at the police station on Sunday that his 18-year-old Ukrainian friend Alfred Chernyshuk invited him to a friend's room at around 10:45 pm on Friday. At the entrance of the residence, a 21-year-old Armenian man, Arman Grigoryan, welcomed Leibov and led him into the room. The victim initially spoke with them on the room's balcony. Later, he needed to use the restroom. When he opened the bathroom door, he found two masked men waiting inside. Mr. Leibov said he pleaded with the criminals to halve the ransom. After completing a transfer of 250,000 USDT, the criminals tied him to the bed, warned him not to report the incident, then packed up and left. The victim said he eventually managed to free himself. Mr. Leibov immediately rode a motorcycle to Phuket Airport but did not encounter one of the suspects. He later filed a report at the police station.
