TechFlow news, on November 8, according to Cointelegraph, Dan Gallagher, Robinhood's general counsel, is considered one of the top contenders to lead the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) under a potential Trump administration. Trump has pledged to fire current SEC Chair Gary Gensler "on day one" of his presidency.
Insiders revealed that Gallagher, who served as an SEC Republican commissioner from 2011 to 2015, is currently the frontrunner within Trump's team to succeed as SEC chair. Other potential candidates include Paul Atkins and Robert Stebbins.
Trump has committed to removing Gensler from office during his presidency, as Gensler has faced criticism for his aggressive crackdown on cryptocurrency over the past several years.
